La Vista is Sarpy County's youngest city and one of its most compact — small lots, close houses, and street trees planted in the sixties, seventies and eighties that are now fully grown on ground that was never sized for them.
The housing stock
Most of La Vista went up in a few decades, and its trees went in at the same time. That means whole neighborhoods hit tree middle age together: silver maples, ash and honeylocust that are now the biggest things on their lots, all needing structural attention in the same era.
The lot problem
