What Being Family Owned Actually Buys You, Beyond a Nice Line on a Truck

The same crew comes back

The climber who prunes your oak in March is the one treating it in April and lighting it in December. Nothing is brokered out to whoever is free that week.

The person quoting it does the work

Estimates are walked by an arborist who will be on the job, not by a salesperson working to a commission on a number somebody else has to deliver.

We are still here in ten years

Plant health care is a decade-long relationship with a tree. A company that changes hands every few years cannot hold that, and most of this industry now does.

Where We Draw the Line: Tree Services We Will Not Do

Safety and standards

We will not top a tree

Topping is decay at every cut and weak regrowth. If a tree is too big for its spot, that is a reduction plan or an honest conversation about the wrong tree.

We will not spike a tree that is staying

Gaffs are for removals. On a tree that stays, every one of them is a puncture wound.

We will not quote work a tree does not need

Plenty of our estimates recommend less than the person expected, and a fair number recommend nothing at all.

We will not touch a line that is still live

OPPD first, always. Anyone offering to cut before that call has been made is telling you how they work.

We will not send an uninsured crew

General liability and workers' compensation, both carried, certificates to you or your insurer the day you ask.

If another company has quoted something on this list, it is worth a second opinion before you sign.

We can't say enough positive things about the quality and service provided by Eden Tree. They are timely, customer friendly, and their crews work hard and clean up is fantastic.

Family Owned Since 1997: A Tree Company That Grew the Slow Way

How we work
Mature trees on a property in the Omaha metro in winter

Eden started in Gretna in 1997 doing tree work for neighbors, and it grew the way most good trade businesses grow: one property at a time, mostly on people telling other people. Nearly three decades later the shop is still in Gretna and the same family still runs it.

What changed is the range. Trees came first, and they are still the core of it, but a mature landscape needs more than a saw. Plant health care came in because too many trees were being removed that could have been treated. Lawn, pest and holiday lighting followed because the crews were already on the property and the customer was already asking.

The through line is that everything is done in-house. That is a slower way to grow than brokering work out, and it is the reason a plant health visit in April can flag a limb that the pruning crew takes off in November without you having to explain the property to anybody twice.

About Eden Tree Pros: Common Questions About Who We Are

Ask us something else

Who owns Eden Tree Pros?

The same family that started it in Gretna in 1997. It has not been sold to a national roll-up, which over the last decade has happened to a large share of the tree companies in this metro, and it is the reason the crew that turns up this year is the crew that turned up last year.

Do you subcontract the work?

No. Everything on this site is done by Eden crews. It is the reason we can carry the insurance rather than hope a subcontractor did, and the reason a plant health visit in April can flag something the pruning crew handles in November without anybody having to explain the property twice.

How big are you?

Big enough to run tree, plant health, lawn, pest and lighting crews and to put a crane on a job when a crane is the right answer. Small enough that the owner still walks estimates. If you want a specific number of crews for a large or commercial job, ask and you will get a straight answer rather than a brochure.

What areas do you cover?

26 towns across the Omaha metro. Sarpy County gets the fastest response because the shop is in Gretna; everywhere else runs on a scheduled route day, which keeps drive time out of your price. If you are not sure whether your address is on the route, ask — the answer is usually yes.

Ask any tree company to name their arborist and show you their insurance. Both should take a minute.
